Ubisoft has confirmed that The Crew 2 now features a new hybrid mode (offline) available today on all platforms, marking the beginning of a key transition towards a future where players can enjoy the game without a permanent connection. This feature will allow players to switch between online and offline modes, ensuring that the title remains fully playable even when the servers are down.
The Ivory Tower studio explains that this hybrid system will serve as a model for other titles in the franchise, with The Crew 2 being the first to receive it. With it, players will be able to access their vehicles, progress, and the complete map of the United States without the need for a constant connection, maintaining the essence of their solo driving experience.
The Crew Motorfest will also have offline mode in the future
The development team has also confirmed that The Crew Motorfest will incorporate its own offline mode later on, although no release date has been estimated yet. In the meantime, the game continues to receive real-time content and weekly events, but Ubisoft assures that its intention is to ensure the long-term preservation of all its online titles.
This step represents a significant commitment to the community, which has been asking for alternatives to server closures for some time. With the release of The Crew 2’s hybrid mode, Ubisoft is starting a new era in game preservation, offering players greater freedom and control over their experience, even when the journey is completely offline.
