Microsoft has launched a new promotion within Microsoft Rewards, offering gift cards with a 10% discount until October 14th or while supplies last. This campaign had been anticipated for some time and is now available on the official Rewards portal, although without notifications by email or on the console.
Any user who accumulates points through searches, achievements, or surveys can now redeem them for digital credit on Xbox or Microsoft Store. The offer is identical for both types of cards, but there’s an important difference to consider if you want to get the most out of your points.
Microsoft Store cards offer more value than Xbox cards
Here’s how you can get more value from your points:
- Although both cards can be used to buy games, DLC, and subscriptions, Microsoft Store cards are more profitable: with the same number of points, they offer more credit value and can be used on both Xbox and PC, as well as allowing you to buy hardware and accessories (controllers, headsets, etc.).
For example, a 10€ Microsoft Store card may cost you fewer points than an Xbox card, and you can still use it to buy games, renew Game Pass, or acquire digital balance. In contrast, Xbox cards are limited to platform content only.
The promotion is available through the official redemption site (rewards.bing.com/redeem) and will remain active until October 14th. If you’ve been accumulating points for a while, this is the best time to convert them into balance before the discount ends.
