The next installment of Activision’s franchise will not only arrive with a revamped technical aspect and a focus on competitive multiplayer, but it has also confirmed that the Zombies mode will feature two distinct gameplay styles. One of them is the Standard Mode, with all the innovations introduced in recent years. The other, much more appealing to veterans, will be the Classic Mode, which in Black Ops 7 will be called “Cursed”.
This decision responds to the nostalgia of fans who asked for an experience closer to the first Zombies maps, where pure survival was the basis and there were no aids or facilities.
How will the “Cursed” mode of Black Ops 7 Zombies be?
The classic mode will arrive with a set of rules that clearly differentiate it from the more modern style:
-
Limited arsenal: it will have its own list of wallbuys, mystery box, and allowed arsenal.
-
No mini-map: players will have to navigate using only the environment.
-
Perk limit: only four can be used.
-
No exfil option: the game ends only with defeat.
-
Classic point system: identical to that of the first Call of Duty: Zombies.
-
Initial weapon: you start with the classic pistol.
-
No armor: resistance will depend exclusively on your skill.
This mode seeks to offer an authentic challenge, eliminating the layers of progression and accessibility added in recent installments. A return to the origins that, without a doubt, will attract both veterans of the saga and new players who want to try the purest Zombies experience.
