Xbox Cloud Gaming has been evolving as one of the pillars within the Microsoft ecosystem, and in recent days, a significant change has been detected: the option to play at higher resolutions. According to tests conducted by Digital Foundry, the service has taken a notable leap in visual quality that directly improves the gaming experience.
To verify this, the media used Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora as a reference title within the service, confirming that the game was able to run at 1440p. The most interesting aspect is that this increase in resolution did not affect latency, one of the most sensitive points in this type of technology.
Xbox Cloud Gaming reaches 1440p with surprising stability
Richard Leadbetter, from Digital Foundry, explained after a testing session that the result was surprising:
This is a drastic improvement over the xCloud we knew. Latency doesn’t seem to be affected, which has always been a strong point of the service. The overall experience is much better.
- Although these are preliminary results obtained after approximately one hour of play, the initial assessment is clear: Xbox Cloud Gaming looks better and plays with the same smoothness as before, bringing it even closer to the native experience of consoles like Xbox Series S.
Microsoft continues to fine-tune its cloud service, and with these improvements, everything suggests that streaming gaming will become an increasingly attractive option.
