Gearbox has released the first major patch for Borderlands 4 on PC, now available on Steam and Epic Games Store. The update aims to improve the experience for players who had reported stability issues and unexpected closures with certain graphics cards in recent weeks.

Although the studio hasn’t gone into great detail, the company assures that this update takes a first step towards general optimization, which will be completed with future patches in the coming weeks. So far, the game has had a brutal success in terms of player numbers, but there have also been complaints about its performance, something that Gearbox is going to remedy starting with the new patch.

What’s new in the first Borderlands 4 patch

• PC Stability: reduction of the most frequent crashes related to certain graphics settings.

• Endgame: adjustments to endgame activities like weekly bosses and the Maurice vendor.

• Progression: fix for an error that prevented progress in a specific mission.

• Cosmetic Content: fix for issues with redeeming customization packs for Vault Hunters.

In addition, the patch notes hint that the update will soon arrive on consoles. On Xbox Series and PlayStation 5, the game experiences errors after long play sessions, something that Gearbox is working to resolve. It’s possible that this update will also include the long-awaited implementation of Field of View (FOV) adjustment, one of the most demanded features by the community.
