The independent studio GFA Games has presented a new video of Pioner, its post-apocalyptic online FPS that combines elements of survival and exploration. With this advance, the team confirms that the open beta will begin in October, allowing PC players to enter their particular universe marked by mutants, radioactive anomalies, and warring factions.
The title, set in a huge map of 50 square kilometers, seeks to convey the tension of references like Metro or STALKER, combining PvE missions with PvP confrontations. Additionally, it promises a world full of survivor enclaves where it will be possible to interact with secondary characters, obtain resources, and forge strategic alliances.
What the Pioner Beta offers, first on PC and the final game on consoles
PIONER is a first-person MMO shooter with an open world set in an alternate reality. On a post-apocalyptic desert island, filled with abandoned structures from the Soviet era, players will explore a hazardous environment that combines dynamic PvE and PvP elements. With a map of over 50 square kilometers, not counting hidden dungeons, the game invites you to discover mysteries, complete faction missions, and participate in tasks that affect relationships and loyalty rewards.
In the trailer, many of the game’s most interesting mechanics can be seen: exploration of high-risk areas, intense combat, and resource management. The studio assures that it has taken into account the criticisms received during the Steam Next Fest, applying performance improvements, balance adjustments, and general optimization for this new phase.
Although the beta will focus on PC, GFA Games has confirmed that the final version 1.0 will also arrive on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5, although there is still no specific release window for consoles. For now, all the focus is on the October test, which will serve as a thermometer for the full release.
