Sitting for hours in front of the computer makes the chair stop being an accessory and become an essential part of our daily lives. After trying several models over the years, none of them had fully convinced me, until I had the opportunity to try the DXRacer gaming chair with a Black Desert finish, which surprised me with its design and comfort, mainly its comfort. This particular model costs over 400 euros, but they have other models that start at under 300 euros, depending on the style of chair that best suits your needs.
These have been my impressions after more than 10 days of testing the chair at home. I’ve used it both for work and play, so in this time, I’ve really liked what it has to offer. I don’t know if in two years I’ll say the same, but in this period, the chair experience has been especially good.
Main features of the model
-
Two sizes available: the L version, which I’ve been testing, supports up to 120 kg; while the XL model is designed for users who need more width and support, with a capacity of up to 180 kg.
-
High back with side wings, inspired by racing seats to improve posture.
-
Lumbar cushion and headrest included, designed to support the back and neck during long sessions.
-
Seat with high-density foam, resistant to prolonged use and designed to maintain its shape over time.
-
Adjustable armrests, practical and with a good finish, although made of rigid plastic.
-
Reclining backrest up to 135°, ideal for both work and rest.
-
Quick assembly, ready in about 20 minutes, without complications or spare parts.
Careful design and finishes
The first impression when seeing it is very positive. Its high back with side wings provides real support and helps maintain posture. The included cushions for the neck and lumbar area provide extra support that is greatly appreciated during long sessions, something that in my case makes a difference compared to other chairs I’ve used.
- The overall appearance conveys solidity and, at the same time, an attractive style without being exaggerated (this is a matter of taste). It is designed to fit in both a gaming space and a work environment, although for other types of environments, simpler designs may be better.
Simple and quick assembly
One of the points that most convinced me is the assembly. In just twenty minutes, it was ready, without loose parts or complicated instructions. You just have to follow a few steps and the chair is perfectly assembled. It’s a detail that reflects good manufacturing and makes the experience much easier from the start. It may seem like a trivial thing, but in my case, this was a plus, since if you need to move it for a move or anything else, in less than 20 minutes, you can have it disassembled.
Proven comfort in long sessions
Comfort is the most important aspect, and here DXRacer delivers very well. The lumbar cushion fits with the natural curve of the back, avoiding tension that appears with the passage of hours. The headrest provides real rest for the neck, especially when reclining the backrest to disconnect for a while. This last one can be adjusted to several heights, with an adjustable rubber band that can be placed in three positions, depending on our height.
The seat, made with good density foam, maintains a perfect balance: it doesn’t sink too much nor is it too rigid. After several days of intensive use (work and play), the feeling is still the same as the first day.
Adjustments and armrests
- The chair offers sufficient adjustments to adapt to different scenarios. The height is adjusted with a class 4 hydraulic piston, reliable and easy to use, while the backrest allows reclining up to 135 degrees. This makes it useful for both work and play, as well as for rest.
The armrests are adjustable in height. Although they are made of rigid plastic and not padded, they have a good finish and are comfortable. They are not the most premium point, but they fulfill their function in a practical and problem-free way.
Outstanding features of the range
- This model is part of a line of chairs that DXRacer has developed inspired by racing seats. The high backrest, lateral support, and ergonomic foam with slow rebound are elements that are repeated throughout the series and aim to distribute body pressure evenly.
Additionally, the brand has launched over thirty limited editions with video game, anime, and esports themes. All share the same ergonomic base, durable materials, and customization options that make them adapt to different tastes and setup styles.
A convincing experience
Compared to other chairs I’ve had, DXRacer has convinced me with its quick assembly, comfort in long sessions, and materials. It doesn’t pretend to reinvent anything, but it delivers what it promises in an effective way. What surprised me the most is that I didn’t know the brand in depth before trying it, and after doing so, it left such a good impression that I decided to keep it as my main chair.
Conclusion
The DXRacer is a comfortable, reliable, and easy-to-assemble gaming chair. Its support cushions, reclining backrest, and material quality make it a highly recommended option for those who spend many hours in front of the computer.
Pros and cons
Pros

Its design and finish convey premium quality.

It doesn’t make noise when moving or reclining.
-
The wheels turn smoothly and move without effort.
Cons
-
The armrests are not padded.

Although they are adjustable in height, they are somewhat light and can move unintentionally to the sides.
Additionally, the fact that the brand offers different models with video game-based themes adds value to those looking for something more personalized.
