Finally, we can share with you that we’ve played Resident Evil Requiem, the new installment of Capcom’s iconic saga. We traveled to Plaion’s offices to give you a firsthand account of what we think of the new game, set to launch in February 2026.
We’ve prepared a video showcasing what we played, and we’ll tell you in person what we thought. The truth is, it’s impressive, with a 25-minute demo that gives you a good idea of what to expect – a suffocating atmosphere and an environment reminiscent of the best horror games. With a fragile and frightened protagonist, Grace, this demo puts us in a hospital or laboratory from which we must escape, although this won’t be easy, as you can see in our video preview below.
First Impressions of Resident Evil Requiem
In the demo, we were able to try out the long-awaited first-person and third-person views. This will come down to personal preference, but although the game seems designed for first-person play, the third-person perspective doesn’t feel out of place and offers additional details that can’t be seen in first-person. For example, Grace’s animations while walking or stumbling can be seen in detail when playing in third-person, so it’s up to you how you want to play.
In my test, I saw many details that make me firmly believe this installment will be terrifying. The demo itself gives us hints – we’ll be navigating with a lighter to see, and lights are scarce and crucial for staying safe, so you can imagine what happens when everything goes dark.
The game also follows the traditional puzzle path, where we’ll have to search for tools, fuses, and other items to progress. Hiding and making no noise is another key aspect of this part of the game that I played, and I’m left with many questions. What was Grace doing in that hospital? Will there be more protagonists? Are we already in Raccoon City? To answer these questions, we’ll have to wait a bit longer, but I can tell you that you’re not prepared for what’s coming with Resident Evil Requiem, a horror odyssey.
