Battlefield 2042 receives update 9.2 with Iwo Jima, new vehicles and reveals the path to Battlefield 6

The new version is now available with free rewards and direct connection to the future of the saga.

Electronic Arts y DICE have surprisingly launched the Battlefield 2042 update 9.2, available on all platforms. This version not only adds new weapons and vehicles, but also recovers a historic map very beloved by veteran players: Iwo Jima.

The patch comes with a free Battle Pass with 60 levels of rewards and a detail that has caught a lot of attention: the possibility of unlocking exclusive content for the upcoming Battlefield 6. Without a doubt, a clear way to mark the beginning of the road to the next installment of the franchise.

Battlefield 2042 update 9.2 available: Iwo Jima map, weapons, vehicles, and Battle Pass

The most notable novelty is the arrival of Iwo Jima, one of the most iconic scenarios in the saga, previously seen in Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 1943, and Battlefield V. In its version for Battlefield 2042, the map incorporates an active volcano, boat landings, bunkers, and trenches on a 700×200 meter surface.

As for the arsenal, two new weapons are added: the KFS2000 assault rifle, precise and stable thanks to its bullpup design, and the Lynx sniper rifle, a powerful semi-automatic capable of causing havoc against vehicles and structures. Two attack vehicles are also added: the A-10 Warthog and the SU-25TM Frogfoot, designed to dominate the air and destroy armored vehicles on land.

On the way to Battlefield 6

The update also premieres a free Battle Pass with 60 levels, available from August 18th to October 7th. It includes over 50 rewards inspired by classic titles like Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4. Additionally, six of its levels grant exclusive rewards for Battlefield 6, which will be available from the launch of the next installment.
