As excitement for GTA 6 continues to grow, Rockstar has surprised the PC community with a significant update for GTA 5 and GTA Online. The new patch officially incorporates NVIDIA’s DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation technology, offering a considerable performance boost for those playing with GeForce RTX graphics cards from the 40 and 50 series.
This advancement comes as part of a free update available since August 15th, and promises to squeeze the most out of the successful open-world title’s engine. DLSS 4 combines upscaling, upsampling, and frame generation techniques to significantly increase fluidity and visual quality, especially in high-end configurations.
GTA 5: A Technical Leap that Reaches 500 FPS in Extreme Configurations
According to NVIDIA’s official data, enabling DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation on systems with RTX 50 series GPUs can increase the framerate by up to 390% in 4K with Ray Tracing and maxed-out settings. In 2560×1440 and 1080p resolutions, the improvement is around 310%, with scenarios where the most powerful configurations reach the 500 FPS limit.
DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) is a technology developed by NVIDIA that uses artificial intelligence to improve gaming performance without sacrificing graphical quality. Essentially, the game is rendered internally at a lower resolution and then, thanks to machine learning algorithms trained with supercomputers, the image is upscaled to a higher resolution with a level of detail practically indistinguishable from native.
To enjoy these improvements, simply install the latest NVIDIA Game Ready drivers and download the latest update for GTA 5 or GTA Online. This will allow players to experience Los Santos with a clarity and fluidity that, until recently, seemed impossible in a title originally released in 2013.
