A year after debuting on PC, the unusual survival title Duckside is ready to make the leap to consoles. As of September 3rd, players on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 will be able to join this peculiar rebellion of heavily armed ducks, in an open world that combines action, exploration, and construction.
TinyBuild Riga’s proposal combines elements from games like DayZ or Rust, but sets them in a context as absurd as it is entertaining: an armed confrontation between ducks and humans. Everything starts with a striking premise (each year, over ten million ducks die at the hands of hunters), but here, the birds are trained to return fire.
Survival, combat, and construction… with feathers on Xbox
In Duckside, you play as a duck that must survive by exploring a vast map, both on land and in mid-air, while facing off against human hunters and rival flocks. Resources are limited, and getting equipment means scavenging, trading, or taking it from other players.
The console release will maintain all the features of the PC early access, including a deep crafting system that allows building defenses, manufacturing weapons and equipment, and fortifying areas to protect your loot.
Exploration will be key to finding materials, but also to discovering hidden secrets on the map, while the constant threat of other armed ducks and featherless enemies keeps the tension high at all times.
