The new mid-season update is already revving its engines. With Season 5 just around the corner, Treyarch and Raven Software have shown off the new content that’s being added to the zombie cooperative experience, including a map set in the Appalachians that will serve as a key location for the development of the conflict between Richtofen and SAM.
The free update will arrive on Thursday, August 7th at 6:00 PM (Spanish mainland time) and will also be available on Xbox at 11:00 AM Mexico City time, simultaneously with PlayStation and PC. All of this will be included as part of the post-launch content, with no additional cost for players.
Reckoning will be the most decisive map in Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode
In this new scenario, called Reckoning, players will face the “turning point” of the story. The action takes place in a devastated Appalachia, with completely new areas and a context that will mark the final assault on the Janus Towers, the central hub of this developing narrative.
- One of the most striking additions will be the Gorgofex, an experimental gun that combines mycelial and insectoid properties. According to its creators, it’s capable of inflicting lethal damage with unexpected effects, including gravity alteration. A bold and distinct proposal, very much in line with the delirious style of the Zombies mode.
The update also introduces the new Combat Bow, a support weapon equipped with incendiary ammunition to mow down hordes, and will give access to more events, challenges, and activities within this cooperative mode. Treyarch and Raven have promised more free content throughout the season, and this new map seems to be just the beginning.
