Rumors are once again casting doubt on the release date of GTA 6. Although Rockstar Games officially confirmed in May 2025 that their highly anticipated title would arrive on May 26, 2026, some familiar voices in the leak scene suggest that the game could be delayed until September of the same year.

This supposed modification has not been officially announced and comes from sources like Millie A, a well-known insider on social media. According to her words, Rockstar is considering internally moving the release to the end of the third quarter of next year. The reason for the delay is unclear, although it could be related to decisions regarding game polishing or marketing planning. There’s also speculation about the date, as Rockstar traditionally doesn’t release games in the GTA saga in months like May, which would lead us to the last quarter of the year.
The May release date remains in effect, but the rumor gains momentum
For now, Rockstar Games has not issued any statement contradicting the date announced in the spring. Officially, GTA 6 is still scheduled for May 26, 2026, with a release on consoles, Xbox, and PS5. However, the latest rumors have generated concern among part of the community, especially after the absence of new updates during recent major events. We also haven’t had any more information about the game since its second trailer.
Main release dates for the GTA saga:
-
GTA I – October
-
GTA II – October
-
GTA III – October
-
GTA: Vice City – October
-
GTA: San Andreas – October
-
GTA IV – April
-
GTA V – September
The source of the rumor, Millie A, has had some successes in the past, although she has also been wrong on other occasions. Therefore, it’s essential to treat this information as unconfirmed speculation. Until Rockstar or Take-Two speak out, everything suggests that the original plan is still on track.
