The gap between the Call of Duty and Battlefield series has been growing in recent years, with Activision’s franchise taking the lead. However, with the arrival of Battlefield 6, some fans are starting to wonder if things could take a new turn. A hint that this might be possible is the reception of the Battlefield 6 presentation trailer, which got more “likes” in one hour than the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 trailer, released a month ago.
The Battlefield 6 campaign trailer, despite being CGI, proved to be very popular and sparked a positive reaction in the community.
A community happy with the first “reveal”
An hour after its release, it had garnered over 194,000 “likes” and a relatively low “dislike” rate. Currently, the trailer has reached 6.5 million views and 419,000 “likes”, with only 12,000 “dislikes”.
In comparison, the Black Ops 7 trailer has had 40 million views, but only 146,000 “likes” and 90,000 “dislikes”, suggesting that fans are not entirely satisfied with what was shown at the latest Xbox Showcase.
With these numbers, some fans are starting to suspect that Battlefield 6 might have the chance to surpass Call of Duty if EA manages to capture the hype and satisfy a fan base that expects a great chapter after the issues with Battlefield 2042. The reception of the Battlefield 6 trailer is a good indication that the series might be taking a new turn, and now all that’s left is to wait and see if EA can meet the fans’ expectations.
