The information comes from the well-known insider Shpeshal Nick, who has stated that at least two different sources have indicated to him that Fable will not be released in 2026, despite that being the official plan. Although he himself acknowledges having received the information with caution, the coincidence between several contacts has led him to share it publicly.

According to reports, there are no serious problems in development, but rather a clear intention by the team to not rush the release. Playground Games, responsible for the Forza Horizon saga, would be prioritizing the final quality of the game, even if it means delaying it more than expected.

For now, Fable does not have a specific release date. Its arrival is expected at some point in 2026 for Xbox Series and PC, but without a defined month or official confirmation that it will arrive that year. There are also no indications that the title will be released on other platforms such as PS5 or Nintendo Switch 2.
