Electronic Arts has updated its official online services page to confirm that the servers for FIFA 23 will shut down permanently on October 30, 2025. This news doesn’t go unnoticed, as the original shutdown date was previously set for December 12, which means the shutdown is happening more than a month earlier than initially announced.
This change will affect all versions of the game, including Xbox Series, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, making all online modes inaccessible: Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs, Seasons, co-op, and any functionality that requires a connection.
The shutdown arrives earlier than expected: last months for FIFA 23’s multiplayer
With this new date, players will have less time than expected to continue enjoying the game’s online features or completing Xbox achievements tied to multiplayer. As of October 30, the game will still be functional in offline modes like Career or Local Tournaments, but all online content will be out of service.
What features will no longer be available after the shutdown?
Once the server shutdown is complete on October 30, 2025, all of FIFA 23‘s online modes will cease to operate. This includes:
-
Ultimate Team: you will no longer be able to access the transfer market, play Division Rivals, Squad Battles, FUT Champions, or open packs and manage squads online.
-
Pro Clubs and Co-op Seasons: will no longer be available.
-
Online Seasons and friendly matches with a connection: will not be playable.
-
Related services like the online catalog, weekly rewards, data synchronization, or global leaderboards: will also disappear.
The game will continue to function in its traditional offline modes, such as Career, Custom Tournaments, and local matches, without the need for a connection. All achievements or trophies related to online play will be inaccessible as of that date, so if you still have any pending, now is the time to complete them.
FIFA 23 was the last title published under the original name of the franchise before the transition to EA SPORTS FC, and this shutdown marks the official end of support for that era. If you still have active matches, pending transfers, or simply want to squeeze a bit more out of its online modes, now is the time to make the most of the remaining weeks.
