A new leak about GTA 6 has reignited the debate over its performance on consoles. According to insider DetectiveSeeds, Rockstar Games has already managed to get the game running at 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5 Pro, thanks to a supposed direct collaboration with Sony’s engineers. The information doesn’t mention Xbox Series X, which has sparked speculation… but also many doubts.

Considering the power of Microsoft’s console, it’s hard to believe that it can’t match the performance in terms of frame rate. In fact, the lack of references might be due more to promotional agreements with PlayStation than to actual technical differences.
Rumors of optimization on PS5 Pro leave Xbox out… for now and with many doubts
According to the insider, the optimization to 60 FPS was achieved thanks to the joint work between Rockstar and Sony, as part of a possible commercial agreement that would include bundles and promotional campaigns. He also claims that several graphics modes are being tested, although he doesn’t provide details on resolution, scaling, or techniques like FSR.
What’s striking is that there’s no specific mention of Xbox Series X, despite being a machine with more than enough known power to compare with Sony’s latest console. Thinking that the new PlayStation can offer 60 FPS while Series X can’t, goes directly against what we’ve seen in recent multi-platform games.
With the release set for May 2026, everything can change, and it’s likely that Rockstar is fine-tuning each version separately. But if the 60 FPS were exclusive to PS5 Pro, the debate would be more than served and the pressure for technical parity between platforms would skyrocket, so we have serious doubts that this will come to fruition, let alone due to promotional agreements.
