One of the most peculiar multiplayer games of recent years, now has a farewell date. Warlander, the third-person tactical action title with massive combat between armies, will shut down its servers on all platforms on January 20, 2026, at 10:00 (Spanish mainland time). The announcement affects both Xbox and PC, and comes with news about its future.
Despite the closure, the team has confirmed that they are actively working on a new version of the game, known as Warlander Reboot, which will have its own open beta soon. Some cosmetic items from the original game will be transferable to this future release.
Warlander’s closure now has a date
According to the official statement, from July 18, 2025, it is no longer possible to purchase in-game currency (Goldings), although any existing currency will remain valid until the servers are completely shut down. During these final months, weekend events and special modes like 2-Army Great War will remain active.
The final closure will take place on January 20, 2026, at which point the game will no longer be available for download and all online services will be deactivated.
Additionally, on July 20, 2026, customer support will come to an end. As for transferable items, cosmetics, pickhammers, and Goldings will be preserved, but items that affect character performance or other discarded items due to system changes will not be kept. It’s essential not to delete your account if you want to preserve your visual progress in the future version.
Warlander was one of the most peculiar free-to-play multiplayer titles due to its genre-bending mix and focus on massive objective-based battles. Now, with the reboot announcement on the horizon, its developers are seeking to give the proposal a second life with a more solid foundation and adapted to modern times.
