Since its arrival on the Xbox Game Pass catalog, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has garnered significant attention from service users. The turn-based tactical RPG, developed by Owlcat Games, has resonated particularly well with fans of the Games Workshop universe, and now one of the studio’s representatives confirms that its stint on Game Pass is proving highly successful.
In recent statements, Andrey Tsvetkov, Publishing Director at Owlcat Games, has affirmed that they are very pleased with the game’s performance on Microsoft’s platform: “The level of player engagement with those who have tried it through Game Pass is quite significant,” he notes, without delving into concrete figures. Nevertheless, the comment clearly indicates that the title’s inclusion in the service has considerably broadened its reach.
Another Success for RPGs on Xbox Game Pass
Rogue Trader launched on Xbox Series and PC with Game Pass in June 2024, and has since maintained an active player base. Its proposal draws inspiration from classic isometric RPGs, featuring moral dilemmas, turn-based combat, and a grimdark setting within the Warhammer 40K universe.
With this outcome, Owlcat Games joins the ranks of studios recognizing the positive impact of Game Pass in bringing visibility to complex and demanding titles, within a genre that typically finds a loyal but limited audience outside the subscription ecosystem.
Have you tried it yet? Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader remains available on Game Pass for Xbox Series and PC.
