Arkane Studios’ fiscal documents, dated for the 2024 fiscal year, have revealed a highly anticipated piece of information: Marvel’s Blade, Xbox’s next big game, is now in full production. According to the official report, development for the ZeniMax/Microsoft group “is progressing as planned,” and the production phase began after the prototype was validated at the end of last year.
This not only confirms that development is on track but also rules out any potential cancellations or project restarts. The studio, responsible for titles like Dishonored and Deathloop, employed 190 people during 2024, which reinforces the game’s scale and its AAA status.
Arkane Confirms Marvel’s Blade is in Development
The validation of the prototype and the move to the production phase are key milestones for any high-budget development. While there’s still no official release date, it’s estimated that the game will be ready sometime in 2027, as indicated by the tax credit provision associated with the project.
Furthermore, a recent LinkedIn update from Bethesda Softworks’ Senior Director of Development mentions Marvel’s Blade as one of the titles currently “in progress,” alongside DOOM: The Dark Ages and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. All signs point to Xbox already having a powerful lineup of future high-profile exclusives in the works.
If all goes according to plan, Marvel’s Blade could become one of the major releases of the second half of this generation. We’ll be keeping an eye out for upcoming official updates.
