Next month, the online servers for two speed-focused games that have been active on Xbox consoles for years will be shut down permanently. This decision is a result of the license being transferred to a new publisher, which also hints at the arrival of a new official installment later this year.
Although the single-player mode will continue to operate without restrictions, the multiplayer component will be completely deactivated. This will affect both online matches and connected features, marking the end of an era for a classic racing franchise.
Server shutdown for NASCAR Heat 4 and 5 on Xbox
As of August 1, the online multiplayer features of both games will be permanently unavailable. This means that competitive online races and access to synchronized events or leaderboards will no longer be possible. However, it is confirmed that all single-player features will continue to function normally, including championship, quick race, and practice modes.
- This shutdown not only affects the Xbox version but also other platforms where these games are available. The transfer of the license to a new operator suggests that a new official NASCAR game is in the works, although no details have been released about the responsible studio or the game’s approach.
With this measure, the NASCAR Heat saga officially ends its online support after several years of activity. Players who still want to relive their best moments will be able to access offline content without issues, but the competitive online component will be permanently unavailable as of August 1.
As you know the journey has begun for the new licensors, with their game expected to release this year. As part of the licence transfer, the NASCAR Heat servers will be permanently closed on 1st August 2025.
The game will remain playable in single player modes after this time.
