Once Human continues to take significant steps towards becoming one of the most ambitious survival MMOs on the market. Following its release on mobile devices in April and its establishment on PC since last summer, Starry Studio has confirmed that the game will also land on next-generation consoles. However, we’ll have to wait until 2026 to play it on Xbox Series and PS5.
The development team has been clear: Once Human will have native versions for current consoles, although no specific date or more precise window has been detailed yet. The only thing that’s certain for now is that it’s scheduled to arrive throughout next year, and some rumors even point to an early release in the first months of 2026 if everything goes as planned.
Once Human on Xbox Series: a post-apocalyptic survival game with PvP and PvE
For those who don’t know, Once Human is a survival MMO set in a future distorted by an alien substance called Stardust. It combines elements of action, crafting, building, and exploration with a strong focus on online play, both competitive and cooperative. On Xbox Series, it’s expected to arrive with all current features and additional content.
- Since its release on PC in July 2024, the game has received constant updates, the most recent being the version 2.0 Dreamveil, which introduces the PvE scenario Endless Dream. This expansion includes new events like Fantasy of the Dreamland, the Carnival Subsidy, a revamped class system in public testing, and items like the Reward Pact package or the Light Forge: Final Abyss loot.
In addition to playable content, the update has also served to fix technical issues and optimize performance, something crucial for the jump to consoles. Although there’s no confirmation on cross-platform play yet, Starry Studio has already shown signs of wanting to unify communities.
We’ll be keeping an eye on any news about the Once Human version for Xbox Series, which is shaping up to be one of the most interesting free releases of 2026. In the meantime, the game continues to be active and growing on PC, where it already has a consolidated player base and constant evolution.
