Although there has been a lot of talk lately about the campaign for the single-player mode of GTA 6, such as the supposed partial rewriting of its story, now unconfirmed details are emerging about what would be a radical evolution of GTA Online in the next installment of the saga.

According to Fravillys, a well-known insider focused on Rockstar, the company is developing a completely renovated version of the multiplayer mode that could support up to 96 players simultaneously, far exceeding the current limit of 32 that GTA Online has in its current version.

GTA 6 Online would multiply the number of players

The figures mentioned by Fravillys point to a minimum of 64 players per session, which would already double what we are used to seeing today. But Rockstar’s ambition would go further, with testing and development aimed at reaching that ceiling of 96 players per lobby.

• To achieve this, the team would be implementing new technologies that allow for more direct and fluid interaction, reducing the presence of intermediate elements such as menus, loading screens, or invitation systems. The idea would be to offer a more continuous and natural environment, in line with the scale expected from the open world of GTA 6.
