The rapper Curtis Jackson, popularly known as 50 Cent, will play the famous boxer from the Capcom saga in its new big-screen adaptation. Several movie stars have already been confirmed in other roles, such as Jason Momoa as Blanka, and Noah Centineo who will play Ken.
Orville Peck, country music singer, will bring Vega to life, and Joe Anoa’I (Roman Reigns in the WWE) will be Akuma. Ryu, one of the main characters in the franchise, will be played by Andrew Koji. The project will be directed by Kitao Sakuri and will start filming in August in Australia.
New faces for the franchise
Street Fighter has had many adaptations to the big screen, both with real actors and in different animated versions. Perhaps the most remembered one is the 1994 film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raúl Juliá, and Kylie Minogue, which has been heavily criticized over the years.
